Chevrolet has released a teaser photo of its new Corvette Z06, ahead of the car's debut at next year's Detroit Motor Show.

Chevrolet claims that the new Z06, which is based on the latest C7-generation Corvette which was unveiled earlier this year, is "the most track-capable Corvette ever" and is "designed to deliver supercar levels of performance through unique powertrain, chassis and aerodynamic features".
The Corvette Z06 will join Chevrolet's performance car lineup alongside the Corvette Stingray Convertible, the Camaro Z/28 and the SS.
At the moment, Chevrolet is staying tight-lipped on what engine will power the Z06. The previous generation model was powered by a 7.0-litre 505bhp V8 which was enough to give it a 0-62mph time of 3.7 seconds.
The standard C7 Corvette goes on sale in the UK early next year; however, it will be at least a year before the Z06 goes on sale.
