Suzuki is helping customers beat the Government’s new VED charges with a special offer.

From the start of this month, new cars became subject to a higher rate of vehicle tax based on CO2 emissions, but Suzuki has announced an offer that will cover the first three years cost of this. Customers buying a new Suzuki will be able to take advantage of a discount equivalent to three years VED taken off the on-the-road price of their new car.

Previously, a Suzuki Celerio SZ3 Dualjet which emits just 84g/km of CO2 would have been exempt from VED. Now, under the new structure, it will incur a first year charge of £100, and a charge of £140 per annum from year two. That would leave customers worse off by £380 under the new structure, but Suzuki will discount that amount from the initial purchase costs of the car. The offer is available to private customers on all Suzuki models (excluding Swift models) until the end of June.
