Volkswagen Up Overview
Available with a choice of two 1.0-litre 3-cylinder engines, developing either 59bhp or 74bhp, the up! is incredibly economical and all of the models in the range will top 60mpg. There's also plenty of space in the cabin and boot and the up! feels much more solidly built than all of its rivals.
Background
The up! isn't VW's first stab at the city car market, there was the Lupo in 1999 and its replacement the Fox in 2006. The up! was revealed at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show and went on sale in the UK in 2012.
Summary
The up! is a cracking little car. It's a little bit pricey but it's a quality product and one of the best cars in its class. Providing you're not planning on racking up the motorway miles and just need a car to drive around town, you can't go far wrong.
