The Peugeot 207 Allure 1.6 HDi 112 5dr is a car that offers sufficient specifications at an affordable price. It comes with an engine that is quite smooth but unfortunately it lacks efficiency. With classy and attractive interiors, solid exteriors and standard security systems and equipment the car does offer relatively good value for money however, with a comfortable cabin for both drivers and passengers.

PROS:  The all new 207 SW Allure HDi is quite spacious as compared to 207 Hatchback. With larger boot space and more rear space, it has the same high-quality, airy cabin and drives well but with better practicality and great efficiency.

CONS:  Steering lacks feel and this affects the overall drive quality.

Behind the Wheel

Peugeot 207 Allure1.6 HDi 112 5dr comes with a six speed manual gear box. With a top speed of 120 mph and 1.6 litre engine, the model boasts decent performance credentials. The steering wheel and driver's seat are both highly adjustable for maximum comfort.

This is a very compact car and fits easily into spaces. However the steering is too light while driving which gives a reasonably supple ride which unfortunately lacks stability and control.

Refinement is fairly good with little engine noise inside the cabin. The road and suspension noise are also minimal, although they start to increase at motorway speeds.

Looks & Equipment

This Peugeot 207 comes in a variety of colours, and its sophisticated paint finish gives a very classy look. It features a smart dashboard and slick controls, metallic highlights around the vents, and stylish dials which add to the quality of this version.

This Peugeot 207 model comes with standard equipment including power steering, climate control, cruise control, rear parking sensors, high quality leather seats and leather steering wheel cover, remote central locking and four airbags, radio & CD player, electric front windows, front fog lights, air-conditioning, Bluetooth and alloy wheels.

Practicality, Safety & Reliability

This Peugeot 207 Access provides more legroom for the passengers as the bench seat is mounted further back and higher up. It comes with split folding rear seats, adjustable rear headrests, and seat height adjusters which make the drive smooth and comfortable.

For heavy luggage, the rear seats provides enough space as they can be folded flat , and you don’t have to lift the whole tailgate to load even the small luggage. The electronic stooping aid, fog lights, four airbags (for drivers, passengers and the front side of the car), diesel engine and anti-lock brakes with stability control, electrically operated child locks on rear doors, alarms, sensors, remote central locking and deadlocks are all included as standard safety features.

The past reliability record of this version is not that impressive, and was reported as below average.

Value for Money

The 207 is quite an affordable car with low running costs, and you could secure a good discount. With fuel economy of around 64.2 mpg and CO2 emissions at 114 g/km, running costs are very favourable and road tax will fall under tax band C. Even insurance premiums are fairly reasonable under insurance group 16.

These savings combine with a purchase price of £17,545 to make this a decent option, but the poor driving experience could be a deterrent.
