Audi A6 Overview
Current engine choices are between the 2.0 litre V6 petrol, and either a 2.0 litre or 3.0 litre diesel for the saloon and Avant models. The Allroad model offers the same 3.0 litre petrol and diesel engines, and an additional 2.7 litre diesel.
The A6 has one of the most impressive interiors of any car on the market, and takes Audi’s reputation for quality to another level. Second to none in terms of the quality of materials used, this Audi proudly displays the luxury finish throughout the interior.
Space inside the A6 is plentiful. Both front and back passengers have an abundance of head and leg room, whist the boot is vast with folding seats to provide any extra luggage space that may be required. Due to its size and comfortable seating, this would make an ideal family car, however it may not be best suited to young children and sticky fingers.

Background
The A6 is a large executive car that first appeared in 1994 as a replacement for the Audi 100. The first generation was essentially a re-badged 100, with only limited exterior modification. The second generation was based on a new platform, the Volkswagen Group C, and the car moved from being a large family car to a large executive vehicle.
The third generation was a progression of the previous version. The exterior styling had a more pronounced front grille, whilst the interior was more sophisticated both in terms of appearance and technology offered. It received a facelift in 2008, with minor changes to appearance and the introduction of a new 3.0 V6 supercharged petrol engine.
2011 saw the release of the latest A6 which has taken design cues for both the interior and exterior from the A7. The wheelbase has increased in size and production has moved onto the MLB platform, as have many of the modern Audis.
In the past there has been an RS version of the C6 available in addition to the S-Line models. They were produced from 2002-2004 and 2008-2010, but there has not been a new RS6 designed for the latest generation.
Summary
The C6 offers a large executive car to rival the BMW and Mercedes-Benz offerings. The interior is second to none whilst all engines offer good performance and the handling is surprisingly light for such a large car.
